WRENTHAM — King Philip DECA Vice President of Marketing Hannah Mahoney would like to provide an update on the high school’s business club:
It is a new year and new beginnings for King Philip DECA, the high school’s internationally recognized student business organization.
Last year was a huge success for KP DECA after taking home several awards at the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida in April. KP DECA members were recognized for their outstanding work in marketing, entrepreneurship and community service. Two King Philip DECA teams were also awarded first place DECA Glass awards for their integrated marketing campaign projects.
More exciting things are ahead for this year’s group of students as King Philip DECA will be welcoming sophomores for the second year in a row.
Elections for junior and sophomore representatives were held at the beginning of September. Samantha Asprelli (sophomore), Ryan Boucher (junior) and Jaclyn Anderson (junior) will be joining the King Philip DECA officer team and will represent their sophomore and junior classes. The entire officer team will be attending the Fall State Leadership Conference at Bentley University in Waltham on Oct. 17.
This year, KP DECA’s senior officers are:

- Vice President of Hospitality Ryan Lacy
- Vice President of Finance John Hastry
- Vice President of Career Development Kiley Sullivan
- Vice President of Marketing Hananh Mahoney
At the beginning of September, KP DECA members utilized the high school’s annual open house as an opportunity to promote their projects and recruit new members.
The annual King Philip DECA breakfast and installation ceremony will be held on Nov. 20 as the official opening of the King Philip DECA season. Parents and students will come together to celebrate the induction of new members and senior officers. All are excited to see what the 2019-2020 King Philip DECA season has in store.
